It’s taken for granted but still mind-blowing that every song we’ve ever heard is at our fingertips. Way back when, I used to travel an hour into the Virgin Megastore in London to pick up as many records as I could afford at the time. Read every word of the sleeve notes home on the train. I miss the anticipation of a new album from your favourite artist. The hope of wanting it to be great as you drop the needle on your turntable. The annoyance when most of the tracks were rubbish. The relief when you’ve found a new classic!
